HAPPY NEW YEAR -- 2025!

WOW!  Where does time go?  It is 2025!  Today, my card wishes you a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR and an incredible year filled with possibilities!

Today's card mixes a little "old" and a little "new".  The numbers are from an "old" stamp set that I hang on to as numbers always come in handy to have.  The "0" in 2025 is made with a heart from another "new" sneak peek Sale-A-Bration item that will become available on January 7 when the 2025 Sale-A-Bration (SAB) Promotion begins.  This SAB item is actually a stamp set and die bundle, and you can choose it for free with a $120 merchandise purchase.

Today's card actually is TWO SNEAK PEEKS!

Tomorrow on Learning with Friends I will show Part 2 of the Color Blocking Technique.  I shared Part 1 on December 19 and at that time tentatively promised Part 2 on January 2.  If all goes as planned, Part 2 will premier tomorrow at 10 AM.

If you missed Part 1, here is the replay.

Part 1 used the masking method and Part 2 will show you how to do Color Blocking using the Piecing Method.  Today's card was made with the Piecing Method.  I encourage you to check them both out and choose the method that you prefer.

You can achieve a very similar result with either method.  For today's card, I stamped the 2025 with VersaMark ink on Basic White cardstock and then heat embossed the images with white embossing powder.  Next, I cut the image into 4 separate pieces and used Blending Brushes to color each piece.

Doesn't it make a colorful Happy New Year card?

I then adhered the 4 colorful pieces to a Basic Black mat before attaching the assembly to the Smokey Slate card base.  Lots of Iridescent Sequins add sparkle to celebrate the new year.

I could just as easily have used masking tape to tape off the sections and then color them as I show in the Color Blocking Part 1 video.

For the inside of the card I actually used the masking version of Color Blocking to create my stripes.  It is purely a matter of personal preference.  The sentiment on the inside of the card is from the Encircled in Nature stamp set.

Tune in to Learning with Friends tomorrow, January 2, 2025, to learn the Color Block Technique using Piecing.

Use this link to down load a copy of the written PDF Tutorial with all the dimensions and step-by-step directions to make this colorful Happy New Year card.

A list of currently available products is shown below.  The item number for the Heart Shaped Bundle is 164953.  It will be available as a Sale-A-Bration Choice on January 7, 2025.  As I indicated my numbers are from a retired stamp set called Number of Years.
