CONEFLOWER ON THE TIN CEILING

This card was made with the Coneflower Celebrations Bundle and the Faux Tin Ceiling Technique for the background.

I used the Faux Tin Ceiling Technique many years ago, and the directions I had at that time were comprised of many steps.  I loved the look but decided there must be a simpler and quicker way to get the same effect.  The main difference between the "original" technique and this one is that with the original process you basically had to first create your own "tin".  I decided to experiment using foil cardstock, and it worked great.

Watch this Learning with Friends video to see how I did it.

If you are interested in experiencing the original version of the technique there is still a video available on SplitCoast Stampers.  But this one is so much easier!

You can use any color of foil and any embossing folder that you have.  Just decide what you want your "tin ceiling" to look like and go for it!

For my "ceiling", I used Textured Metallic Foil in the Tungsten Color.  It's got a purple tint to it, and I thought that looked nice with my Pretty in Pink Coneflower.  The Embossing Folder was the Eyelet 3D.

I used a decorative strip die from the bundle to add a little more Pretty In Pink detail on the card.  The sentiment was die cut on the diagonal with a Stylish Shapes Die.

I wanted a pop of color on the butterfly, so just went a little crazy with my Stampin' Blends.

I put the same little butterfly on the inside of the card but left it sentiment free.  This leaves plenty of room for a personalized thank you note.
