BLACK & WHITE SUNFLOWERS

Black and White with just a tiny pop of red has been a favorite color combination of mine for years.  Maybe it dates back to my High School Colors which were black and white with sometimes (not always) just a hint of red on the sports uniforms.

I'm not sure if "nostalgia" is why I like it, or if I just like it.  But I know that I'm not the only one that likes this color combination.  I've had stampers in my in-person classes that were always happy when I had a black & white card with just a hint of red tossed in.

So today, this card continues that "tradition".

This card was SO QUICK AND EASY to make.  Emboss the Basic White cardstock with the Sunflower 3D embossing folder and drag an ink pad of Black Memento ink across it.  Voila!

All that remained was adding a bit of black & white gingham ribbon and a sentiment.  The sentiment is from the Peace on Earth stamp set.  Yes, this greeting stamp set is not just for Christmas!

The Nested Essentials Dies made quick work of cutting out the sentiment and a second piece of Poppy Parade cardstock to add just a little more red on the sea of Black and White Sunflowers.

Basic Rhinestone were colored with a Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blend to add a bit of red sparkle.

When I made the embossed layer for the card front, I made it a little larger than my desired finished size.

This gave me some "scraps" when I trimmed it down to size.  I used one on the inside of the card and another on the edge of the envelope.  This is a quick and easy way to make a pretty coordinated card and envelope set.
