LOVE & STRENGTH NOTE CARD

This week I am using the Love & Strength Stamp set from the 2024 September - December Mini Catalog.  This stamp set is NOT on the Last Chance List, which is great news.  If you are looking for a stamp set that has wonderful sentiments of encouragement this set is an excellent choice.

Today's card is a Note Card that has a cute surprise on the inside to bring cheer to someone special.

I stamped the flower with Black Memento ink and then colored it with Stampin' Blends.  The colors used on the card are Pretty in Pink and Lost Lagoon.  This is such a soft and pretty combination.

I don't often use Designer Series Paper (DSP) as a mat on my cards, but the Unbounded Beauty DSP was the inspiration for card, and I like the bit of pattern peaking out around the focal point.  This Pretty in Pink design is very soft and calming and I liked how it looked with the flower from Love & Strength.

I also used the DSP on the envelope flap and the surprise on the inside of the card.

Isn't this a cute little gift bag on the inside?  It is the perfect size to tuck a gift card into.

I showed how to make this cute little bag a few weeks ago on Learning with Friends.  If you missed that video, you can still always watch the replay.

I hope you will give it a try!  As you will see in the video, it is so much easier than you might think!

FRIDAY FUN FOLD VALENTINE

A Joy Fold is one of my favorite folds.  It is extremely quick and simple and is a great design to use all that pretty designer series paper that we have.

The Joy Fold is a card within a card.  The larger card base and the smaller "Joy" fold intertwine.

This card uses the Most Adored Sale-A-Bration designer series paper (DSP).  You can choose this pretty paper for free with a $50 merchandise order.

While this DSP is certainly a great option for Valentine Cards, it is far from being a Valentine only paper.  In fact, I think only 2 or 3 of the patterns have hearts.  There are flowers, swirls, plaids and much more, and one side of each pattern includes gold foil patterns.  It is a beautiful Specialty Paper!

Since I am sharing Valentine inspiration this week, I did use two of the hearts patterns -- the small Gold Foil hearts on the card front and the larger Flirty Flamingo Hearts on the inside of the large card base.

I combined this pretty DSP with the Country Bouquet Stamp Set and Punch.  The hearts on the front and the sentiments are from that stamp set in the Annual Catalog.

The two-step large heart was stamped with Real Red and Granny Apple Green ink, and it makes a beautiful floral focal point image.

When you open the small card front to the right and the red plaid flap to the left, the inside of the small card is revealed.

I added a strip of the same gold foil heart DSP as was used on the front of the small card.

I hope you have enjoyed the Valentine Inspiration this week.  Be sure to download the FREE TUTORIAL and make a special Valentine for someone you love.  There is still time!

BAXTER SENDS VALENTINE WISHES

Since we are quickly approaching Valentine's Day, I thought maybe you could use some Valentine inspiration.  So this week I will be sharing cards with the theme of Happy Valentine's Day!

Let me introduce you to Baxter the Beaver.   He is named after my little Baxter.

When Baxter passed away, I wanted to make a Memory Book for him and that is what started me on this Stampin' Up! journey.  So I thought he deserved to have this cute little beaver named after him.  Baxter the Beaver just wants to share his heart of sticks with you, and my Baxter always shared his heart with me.

Baxter the Beaver said he needed to sit near the pond where he gathered the sticks to make your heart.  His beautiful pond is from the Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper Collection.  It was die cut with the arched die from Fluffiest Friends.  After he made his Melon Mambo heart, Baxter had lots of leftover sticks so he is sitting on his pile of leftovers.  He said he's going to use them to make some more hearts!

The tree stumps surrounding Baxter were made with the Tree Rings Embossing Folder.  After embossing on Basic White cardstock, a little Crumb Cake ink was added to the stumps with a Sponge Dauber to highlight them.

To make sure the inside of the card didn't feel neglected Baxter said we needed to use some of the pretty surroundings from around his pond to make it pretty.  I thought he had a good idea, so that's what I did.  The sentiments are from the Country Bouquet stamp set.

Baxter said to be sure to tell you that there is a tutorial for his card, so that if you want to make one, you have all the information you need.  Use this link to download a FREE copy.
