FRIDAY FUN FOLD VALENTINE

A Joy Fold is one of my favorite folds.  It is extremely quick and simple and is a great design to use all that pretty designer series paper that we have.

The Joy Fold is a card within a card.  The larger card base and the smaller "Joy" fold intertwine.

This card uses the Most Adored Sale-A-Bration designer series paper (DSP).  You can choose this pretty paper for free with a $50 merchandise order.

While this DSP is certainly a great option for Valentine Cards, it is far from being a Valentine only paper.  In fact, I think only 2 or 3 of the patterns have hearts.  There are flowers, swirls, plaids and much more, and one side of each pattern includes gold foil patterns.  It is a beautiful Specialty Paper!

Since I am sharing Valentine inspiration this week, I did use two of the hearts patterns -- the small Gold Foil hearts on the card front and the larger Flirty Flamingo Hearts on the inside of the large card base.

I combined this pretty DSP with the Country Bouquet Stamp Set and Punch.  The hearts on the front and the sentiments are from that stamp set in the Annual Catalog.  

The two-step large heart was stamped with Real Red and Granny Apple Green ink, and it makes a beautiful floral focal point image.

When you open the small card front to the right and the red plaid flap to the left, the inside of the small card is revealed.

I added a strip of the same gold foil heart DSP as was used on the front of the small card.

COUNTRY HEART DOUBLE FLIP FOLD

Both cards I have shared this week have been quick and simple cards perfect for beginner stampers.

I would consider today's card better suited to Avid Stampers.  It is not difficult, but there are more steps and definitely more stamping.  A beginner may feel a little overwhelmed.

This is a Double Flip Fun Fold card and uses a Technique called Partial Die Cutting.

Closed Card Front

There are a total of 4 panels on this card that can be decorated as desired.  I thought this was a perfect opportunity to highlight many of the stamps that are included in the Country Bouquet stamp set.  I was also able to use more of the designs that are part of the Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper Collection.

The Front Flip panel was stamped with the large 2-step Heart.  I stamped the floral portion of the heart with Sweet Sorbet ink and the greenery portion of the heart with Mint Macaron ink.  These are two separate stamps but are very easy to align, so the heart comes together quickly.

The above image shows the start of the first flip motion in process which occurs when you pull the Sweet Sorbet DSP section to the left.

As you continue to pull the Sweet Sorbet DSP section to the left, you will see the following.

Card Pulled to Fully Open

The inside left panel (2nd panel) is a Gift Card Pocket made with the Country Gingham Designer Series Paper.  I decorated it with a strip of the same DSP as in on the far-right panel and a bit of Sweet Sorbet Metallic Ribbon.

The third panel on the right was decorated with more stamps from the Country Bouquet stamp set.

As you push the DSP floral section of the card to the left, you will reveal the back of the card as shown below.

This card is beautiful coming and going as every time you make another flip a new panel is revealed.  The fourth and final back panel is decorated with more stamps from the stamp set.  The large lined and striped stamps and the smaller solid Sweet Sorbet heart all coordinate with the Country Bouquet Punch, so stamping and punching makes for quick work.

With all honesty, the most difficult part of this card is deciding how to decorate so many panels.  A portion of each panel is also covered when it is "closed" so you need to pay attention to where you stamp your images.

Because this stamp set includes 6 sentiments that all work wonderfully together, I was able to stamp a unique sentiment on each of my 3 decorated panels.  

My second panel was the gift card holder.  But if you didn't want to use your card for a Gift Card, you could also decorate that panel as desired.

A SINGLE RED HEART

A single red rose is of great significance to me as it has always been a "silent" way to say, "I love you".

Today's card pays homage to that special meaning.

In reality the rose on my stem isn't a rose, but it is a single Sweet Sorbet heart.  Hearts are symbols of love, and so I put it on a single Mint Macaron Stem to turn it into my symbol of love.

The delicate corner die cut was made with one of the dies from Artisan Additions Dies and was cut from another of the patterns in the Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP).  You can see the uncut version of the DSP design on the flap of my envelope.

The petal pink background was embossed with the Splatters Embossing Folder from Stripes and Splatters.  The multiple mat layers make the Single Stem Heart pop as they bring your eye to the focal point.

The With Love sentiment was stamped with Evening Evergreen ink and die cut with a Beautiful Shapes Die.  Three Flat Adhesive Backed Pearls add a bit of elegance to the card front.  If you have missed these pearls, you need to check them out.  They are not called iridescent in the Mini Catalog, but in person, they definitely have iridescence.  So beautiful and honestly, they were just what this card needed as a finishing touch!

The same DSP die-cut and matting was used to decorate the inside of the card.  With the placed on the Basic White rather than Petal Pink card stock you can more clearly see the beautiful details of this die-cut.
