LIGHT & WONDER ACCORDION FUN FOLD

Today's card was CASEd from a card that I saw on Pinterest which led me to Stamps-n-Lingers.  Mary Deatherage's card was gorgeous, and when I saw it, I knew I had to try to make it.  Her card was so pretty that I didn't change much of anything accept the colors.


I loved the small accordion fold card on the front. I first mounted the accordion portion to the front of a regular card, and it looked and worked great, but because of all the accordion layers the card did become pretty thick, so I cut off the "back" of my Blackberry Bliss card base and used only the fixed panel -- like Mary did.

The other detail of this card -- which is probably my favorite -- is the Window Sheet focal point on the front flap of the accordion fold.  I love this idea as it allows the gorgeous Lights of Aurora designer series paper (DSP) to be visible behind the tree line silhouette while providing support for the trees!  As you open and close the accordion the "Northern Lights" from the DSP look like they are moving behind the trees -- just as Northern Lights do in real life.


The accordion card is made from an 11" x 4-1/4" card base.  Use this link to see how to score the 11" side to create 5 panels.  Four of the 5 panels are covered with Lights of Aurora DSP and the Basic White 4th panel provides a message layer.

I also decided to add an additional message layer to the back of the fixed panel just in case I wanted to write a personal note.  

I hope my version of this Fun Fold Card does the original justice.

SNOWMAN ENJOYING THE NORTHERN LIGHTS

Today's card is a fun Interactive Slider Card.  Pull the little tab that is peeking out from the right side of the card and the snowman will slide across the drifts of snow.

Do you see the little tab peeking out?  There is a Shimmer Gem on the end of it to make it easier to grab.



Just pull the tab to the right to reveal a greeting of PEACE, LOVE AND JOY and watch the snowman slide across the snow.


Fun right?

The snowman is from Festive Friends.  The die cut tree line across the snowy hill and the gorgeous Lights of Aurora designer series paper (DSP) which creates the beautiful sky of Northern Lights are from the Lights of Aurora Suite of Products.


The drifts on the snowy hill were made with the So Swirly embossing folder.  This folder is so versatile.  It can be used to create snow drifts, waves of water on a lake or mimic the movement of a butterfly or bird in flight.


Another strip of the Lights of Aurora DSP and a tree line die cut tie the inside of the card to the card front.

A CHRISTMAS WOODS

This week I will be using products from the gorgeous Lights of Aurora Suite.  This isn't technically a Christmas Suite, but since Christmas is approaching faster than I'd like, I really need to step up my game to get my Christmas cards made.  So I decided that each week from now until early December I need to make at least one Christmas card from each suite or bundle that I feature.

It  may not look like it, but this card was super quick & easy.  The beautiful Lights of Aurora Designer Series Paper (DSP) makes the card.  The most difficult part of the card was choosing which of the Lights of Aurora designs to use!

Once that decision was made, the rest was easy.  The two Basic White tree lines were die cut with the Light & Wonder dies.

The tips of the trees on the smaller trees in the foreground with very lightly colored with Pool Party ink and a sponge dauber and then a little Wink of Stella was added.  The tiny bit of color along with sparkle and shine from the Wink of Stella, help to set them off.  


Since I wanted the focus to be on the beautiful DSP and the trees, I wanted a simple small greeting, so I searched my stash.  I found this MERRY Christmas in a retired set called, Hope & Peace, but you could use any greeting you have.

The border around the greeting is from an Online Exclusive Bundle called Sign Design.  The bundle includes a stamp set with a wide variety of greetings and a punch and my Hope & Peace Merry Christmas fit perfectly inside the stamped Pool Party border.

The sentiments on the inside of the card are from the Light & Wonder Bundle which is part of this week's featured Suite Collection.  So see -- it's wasn't difficult to easily turn a non-Christmas stamp set into a Christmas card!
