SENTIMENTAL WISHES BOUNCING YOUR WAY

Today's fun card was made with the Bouncing brayer Technique.

I thought it made a fun background to "spotlight" the stocking from Sentimental Wishes.

The Bouncing Brayer is a simple technique that needs very few supplies--just a brayer, ink pads and cardstock.  I demonstrated the Bouncing Brayer Technique back in August on my Learning with Friends YouTube series.  If you missed it, you can still catch the replay.

For this card I used traditional red & green colors -- specifically Poppy Parade and Granny Apple Green.  

The cute Christmas Stocking was stamped with Black Memento ink and colored with Stampin' Blends.

I purposely made my Bouncing Brayer Technique Sheet larger than I needed so I could trim it down and use the "scraps" to decorate the inside of the card and the envelope.

NORTHERN LIGHTS OVER THE FOREST

Have you ever seen the beautiful Northern Lights?  It's been many years since I experienced them in person, but all the recent photos I've seen inspired me to try to create a little of their beauty.

I used the Bouncing Brayer Technique to create my version of the Northern Lights.  I know my sky isn't all that realistic of the "real" thing, but it was fun and, I love the way it turned out.

My first experience with the Bouncing Brayer Technique was more like tiny rolls of the brayer rather than bouncing the brayer.  I definitely like the bouncing technique better.  It's very easy and makes really interesting backgrounds for your cards.

After making the "Northern Lights" sky, I used a Blending Brush to create some "grass" and then stamped the trees from Forever Forest along the skyline.

I had a little bit of an oops when I was creating the Northern Lights.  (If you watch the video you'll know what I did.)  But as all paper crafters know most "oops" can be fixed or hidden.  I covered my oops with the two larger die cut trees.

I wrapped the scene with Copper Clay Linen Thread from the Natural Tones Linen Thread pack.  This pack of Linen Thread will be available in the Fall Mini and includes the colors, Night of Navy, Garden Green and Copper Clay.  My favorite thing about Linen Thread is that it is easy to tie and I love that this new offering gives us some colors.

The sentiment is from Layers of Beauty, and after die cutting it with a Layers of Beauty tag die, I tucked it under the Linen Thread.

I had a tiny strip that I trimmed off the bottom of my Technique sheet, so I used it along the bottom of the inside of the card.  This "grounds" the stamped pine tree so that it doesn't look like it is floating in space.
