EASTER BASKET OF FLOWERS

While Monday's card was quick & simple, today's card utilizes my favorite thing in the Easter Basket Bundle -- the EASTER BASKET!

The dies in the bundled provide everything you need to make this adorable little basket!  Of course, there is a die for the basket itself, but there are also dies for the colored woven strips, the grass, the bow and lots more.

This was the first basket that I made with the bundle.  I made it before I really had any idea what I was going to use it for, so, I used colors that I thought would be cute for baby card.  Then life took over, and it got set aside for a few weeks.  By the time I came back to it, I decided to use it for an Easter Card.  The colors I used on the basket don't "match" the colors in the Easter Joy Designer Series Paper (DSP), but I think they are close enough to work well together.

If you would like to see how to create this sweet little basket, watch my YouTube video to learn some tricks for "weaving" the basket.  The basket on this card was made with Basic White cardstock.  For the basket in the video, I used one of the designs from the Easter Joy DSP.  Since the Basic White cardstock is not as "stiff" as the specialty paper, it is a little easier to weave, but the DSP does make a really cute basket!

The bunny and flowers were all stamped with Black Memento ink on Basic White cardstock and then colored with Stampin' Blends.  Coordinating dies made quick work of cutting them out.

The layout for today's card uses one of my favorite layouts.  It offers lots of options, and the circle in the template can easily be replaced by any shape -- like the basket on this card.  


To add a pop of color to the inside of the card I used a strip of the DSP that was used on the front.  The sentiment is from Prayers & Promises.  This is my "go-to" sentiment for the inside of my Easter cards this year.

SIMPLE EASTER WISHES

This week I am using products from the Easter Joy Suite Collection.  Today's card is as easy as it gets!

The Easter Joy Designer Series Paper, (DSP) includes two sheets that have beautiful designs for card fronts.  This pretty floral oval wreath on a dotted Balmy Blue background is one of those designs.  All I did was cut it to the size I wanted, added a Balmy Blue mat and then adhered it directly to the card Thick Basic White card front.


The fun tulips in the center of the wreath were die cut from Shy Shamrock, Lemon Lolly and Peach Pie cardstock.  There was no stamping or coloring involved -- just a little assembly.


I added some die cut "grass" behind the top edge of the sentiment strip and adhered it over the bottom of the flowers with dimensionals.  Voila!  Add a few gems, and I was done!


As I was die cutting the flowers and grass for the card front I cut an extra set and added it to the inside of the card.  

The inside sentiment is from the Prayers & Promises stamp set.  I think it works as an Easter sentiment, don't you?

If you need some quick and simple cards, the six different card front designs can be used for a variety of card types.  Two sheets of 6 each could make a dozen quick cards.

EASTER FUN FOLD

Today I have another fun fold card for you.  This "fancy" fun fold was shared by Brandy Cox at the Winter Creativate Retreat.  I made mine a little different than her's.  Not on purpose, but I think it still works! 

As with Monday's card, fun folds are not always the easiest cards to photograph. Some fun folds don't like to stand up well on their own.  Others don't like to lay flat.  At least this one does stand up nicely for display, but it is still a little difficult (at least for me) to capture how the card really works.

It also can be much easier to just show you how fun folds are made rather than explain it clearly in a written tutorial.  So, today I'm giving you both.  Watch the video to see how it is done and download the written tutorial to have all the dimensions that you need.

In the video, I actually made the card "correctly" -- the way Brandy made her's.  Now you can decide which way you prefer.  😀😀😀

The Easter Joy DSP that I used is also a Specialty Paper.  Some of the images are "foiled", but there is also a unique sheen to the paper.  This DSP is heavier weight than our "normal" DSP.  Watch the video to get a better, up-close view.

But, for me, the star of the show for this suite is the dies!  All the images in the stamp set have coordinating dies -- three adorable bunnies, a cute little chick, two flowers, a carrot and an Easter egg.  You can see many of them on today's card. 


Here's a close-up of the two inside panels.  Check out the center tulip made with just the dies -- no stamp.


However, you haven't seen my favorite dies on today's card.  There is an Easter Basket die and a die that cuts narrow strips of paper that can be woven through the basket die cut.  It is so cute!  I couldn't fit it on today's card, but I promise, you will see more of that awesomeness when I feature this bundle in a couple of weeks!
