FRIENDS ARE SWINGING BY

On Monday you met Crayola, and today you are going to meet three of her friends.

These little guys are much more interested in playing in a tropical jungle than in eating bananas.

At the top of the jungle is Trouble.  He is the ring leader of the group,  and that is why he is at the top!  He wouldn't let me put him any other place.  Below him are twin brothers, Max and Mort.  Can you figure out which one is which because I can't.

These three friends are playing in the ferns which were made by using the Fern 3D embossing folder and embossing Vellum Cardstock.

There are so many different ways to use Vellum Cardstock, and I often forget how pretty it is when you dry emboss it.

To learn more ideas for using vellum you can watch this Learning With Friends video.

For this card I heat embossed the branch on the Vellum with black embossing powder.  Then I colored the back side of the branch with Pecan Pie and Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends before I embossed it.

When I make a special technique sheet for a card I often make it larger than my desired finished size.  Then I can trim it to the finished size and have "leftovers" to decorate something else.

On today's card I used a leftover piece of the embossed Vellum to add a little trim on the inside of my card.

If you would like a free tutorial, use this link to download a copy.  The tutorial also includes a link to the Ways to Use Vellum video so you will always be able to easily find it.

QUIET MEADOW THIS OR THAT

It's Monday, and time for a new bundle of the week.  This week I will be featuring the Quiet Meadow Stamp set and the coordinating Meadow Dies.  This bundle (which is no longer sold as a bundle) has been available for a while, but it is new to me as I just recently purchased it.

Honestly, I don't know what took me so long.  The stamp images and sentiments are awesome in this stamp set.  And while no Meadow Dies were used on today's cards, I know I am going to get a lot of use out of these dies.  For more information refer to my Product List at the bottom of the post.

THAT

Today I am actually sharing two cards which are "similar" but "different," and I would like to know which one you like best.  THIS one?  or THAT one?

Both cards use a coloring on Vellum Technique, and I first shared these cards on my Learning with Friends video series.

On both cards the floral images were stamped on Vellum Cardstock with Black Stazon ink.  "THIS" card was colored with Stampin' Write Markers on the front of the Vellum.  "THAT" card was colored with Stampin Blends on the back of the Vellum.

To learn tips about coloring on Vellum as well as a couple of additional ways to use vellum cardstock watch my Learning with Friends video.

On "THIS" card the vellum was mounted over one of the patterns from Bright and Beautiful Designer Series Paper (DSP).  Because the colored image is darker when it is colored on the front of the vellum it still shows very nicely even though it is over a colored background.

On "THAT" card the vellum was mounted over Basic White cardstock.  When coloring on the back of the Vellum the color is softer less intense, so it looks best when backed by white or a very light-colored cardstock.  Before adhering the Vellum, I stamped a couple of the word images from the Quiet Meadow stamp set with Old Olive Ink on the Basic White background.

My question for you is, "which card do you like best?"  Do you like THIS card or THAT card and why did you choose the one you did?  Will you leave me a comment and let me know?

The insides of the cards were decorated similarly.

THAT

I used a strip of the same DSP that was used for the card fronts to add a little color to the inside of the card.

Below are links to a free tutorial for each card.
