SIMPLY MONDAY FLORA

Happy Monday!  This week I will be featuring the Two-Tone Flora Bundle.  I know it has been around for a few months, but it's brand new to me, and I've had a lot of fun playing with it for today's Simply Monday card.

If you are unfamiliar with this bundle, you may look at this card and think, "WOW, that's pretty, but it looks like a lot of work for a Simply Monday card!"

But it wasn't difficult at all!  As long as you have a Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (or similar die cutting machine), it couldn't be much easier.  The die cut on the front is one large die, so all you need to do is run it through your machine with a piece of Basic White cardstock.

The background for the die cut was made by using my Blending Brushes to blend three of the new 2023 - 2025 In-Colors on a piece of Basic White cardstock.  I used Moody Mauve, Pebbled Path, and Boho Blue inks.

Since there are no sentiments in the Two-Tone Flora Stamp Set, I used a sentiment from Go-to-Greetings.  These greetings have beautiful script fonts in three different sizes.  This is the largest font.  I stamped it on a strip of Basic White cardstock with Moody Mauve ink and then just snipped a flag on one end and adhered it to the card front.  The Moody Mauve Ribbon was wrapped around the front flap of the card and tied in a bow.  Two Boho Blue In-Color dots on the sentiment completed the card.

So simple, but yet so pretty!

To decorate the inside of the card, I simply stamped one of the large flowers from the stamp set.  I used stamped-off Moody Mauve for the background and full-strength Moody Mauve for the flower details.  The sentiment, also stamped with Moody Mauve ink, is from Something Fancy stamp set.

This is a remarkably simple card and barely requires a tutorial, but if you would like the cutting dimensions and more assembly details, you can download a copy by using this link.

LOVE & MISS YOU MOM AND DAD!

Today would have been my mom and dad's 74th Wedding Anniversary.  I thought it was 75 Years today, but I had to go look it up to make sure and found out they were married in 1949 not 1948.  I remember hearing the stories about how HOT it was that day.  Somewhere in the high 80's.

They have both been gone for many years now, but I still miss them!  So, I decided to make this card for them.  Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!  Thank you for loving God, loving each other and loving me!

I know that Mom would have loved this card.  She loved flowers and she loved sending and receiving cards.  I still hear from relatives and friends how much they enjoyed getting cards and notes from her.  I also know that Dad would have liked it because I made it!   I'm reminded often by cousins that "Uncle George could build anything!"  And that is true.  Dad loved to build things!

I built this card using the Triple-Time Stamping Technique.  It is an easy technique where you layer three pieces of Basic White Cardstock on top of each other and then stamp all three at once.  Once you have completed the stamping you pull the pieces apart and mat them.  Then you just layer them back together being sure to align the images.

It's not nearly as complicated as the things Dad used to build, but I'm sure he still would have liked it!

I used bright and cheerful colors for today's card.  The yellow is a new color called Lemon Lolly (it's quickly becoming a new Pat favorite), but all the rest are returning favorites, Gorgeous Grape, Fresh Freesia, Pool Party and Soft Sea Foam

For the inside of the card, I just repeated the colorful stamping, but without all the layers.

I'm not really sure how I will use this card yet, but I'll add it to my stash and send it to someone, someday.

CHEERFUL BIRTHDAY DAISIES FOR THE ANNUAL CATALOG BLOG HOP

The colors on today's card make me happy!  So, I hope it brings some Birthday Cheer to someone special.

We don't typically think of daisies as elegant flowers, but I think the Bubble Bath background cut with the largest die from Scalloped Contours Dies adds a bit of elegance, don't you? The cut-out scallops remind me of lace.

Some Berry Burst ink was first added to the white background with a Blending Brush and then embossed with the cross-hatched Basics embossing folder.  These Basics embossing folders are an On-Line Exclusive item and they come in a pack of three.  LOVE THEM!  They add just a little bit of subtle texture.

After embossing the Basic White background, I used my Early Espresso and Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Write Markers to spatter some ink for speckles.  You could easily use any color ink of your choice to create your speckles.  I made the speckles by using the cap of the marker and flicking the edge of the cap across brush end of the marker.  Flick the cap towards you and not away from you or the ink will splatter in your face!  LOL

The daisies and leaves were stamped and then quickly and easily die cut with the coordinating dies from Cheerful Daisies Dies.  For more details on the ink colors used for the two-step stamping, please refer to the free tutorial available at this link.

Sometimes I have trouble aligning two-step stamps and often prefer the ones that are designed to not be aligned precisely.  But I found these two-step Cheerful Daisy stamps extremely easy to align so that made stamping them fun!  A light coating of Clear Wink of Stella adds a little sparkle on the petals.

To decorate the inside of the card, I simply stamped another daisy and added this sentiment from the Happy Labels stamp set.  I have been using this particular sentiment so much, that I hope I don't wear it out!

I'm also participating in the New Catalog Blog Hop today, so now it is your opportunity to hop along with the Crafty Collaborations team and see all the ideas and projects these talented stampers have shared from the new 2023-2025 Annual Catalog.

DAISIES FOR SIMPLY MONDAY

I have a SUPER SIMPLE card today for SIMPLY MONDAY.

I know that many say that simple cards should only use stamps, ink, and paper.  But I don't 100% buy into that philosophy.  I think "simple" is more about the amount of effort and time needed to make a card, not about the supplies you use.

For today's card, I let the Fresh as a Daisy paper do all the work for me!  This Designer Series Paper has two unique sheets included in the collection that are designed so all you need to do is cut the images apart and you have a beautiful card front or focal point.

As you can see, I used the center section but aren't some of these other images also beautiful?  Honestly, it was difficult to choose which one I wanted to use, but I wanted to try the two new In-Colors, Boho Blue and Copper Clay, so these daisies were perfect.

After layering the floral paper on the Copper Clay mat all I needed to do was add a sentiment.  I decided to use this sentiment from the Something Fancy stamp set and then use one of the Something Fancy dies to cut it out.

After that all that was left was to add a little Boho Blue Ribbon and some Adhesive Backed Solid Gems.

Normally, I would use some more of the Designer Series Paper to decorate the inside of my card and its envelope, but since this piece was sized specifically for a card front there were not any leftovers.  Well, I did say there were two sheets of this unique DSP, but I didn't really want to cut the 2nd panel into pieces.  So instead, I used the daisy cluster stamp from Cheerful Daisies to stamp some Boho Blue flowers in each corner.  The birthday sentiment is also from Cheerful Daisies.

For cutting dimensions and step-by-step instructions, you can download a FREE TUTORIAL using this link.
